Andy first started to pole vault in 1998 in High School at Greece Arcadia High School. His high school Earth Science teacher introduced the event to him and it’s been a passion ever since. Fetzner still currently holds the indoor track pole vault record at 12’ 6”. Andy went on to pole vault in college at The College at Brockport where his passion turned into an obsession. He bettered his high school best topping 15’ in the vault. One of his most well know accolades is he is one of the original founders of the Golden Eagle Pole Vault Clinic now in its 13th successful year! In addition, he brought the great people of Rochester a Beach Pole Vaulting competition that now is the 6th largest in the USA.
The Rochester Rockback pole vault club was started back in 2004 as a way for post collegiate vaulters to continue to compete. Now serving a dual purpose the club helps to develop and excite young athletes about pole vaulting and continues to train collegiate and post collegiate athletes as well. Fetzner has gained experience from traveling across the country to learn from the best coaches and athletes at many camps and clinics. Currently Andy is the pole vault coach at The College at Brockport (11th season) Hilton high School (11th Season) and the Rochester Rockback (12th Season)
Biggest coaching accolades: 4 All Americans NCAA level including a national championship in 2013!, coached every indoor and outdoor school record at both the high school and college level at Hilton High School and The College at Brockport respectively. 14 sectional titles, 2 undefeated seasons, 20 SUNAYC champions, both men’s and women’s sunyac indoor and outdoor records. Brought the 1st Beach Vault back to Rochester NY in over 15 years! Winning the Rockback Beach Vault Club championship!
