The Rochester Rockback originated as the Western NY Roadrunners back in 2004. As the club grew so did the interest in the pole vault. With many of our coaches being accomplished pole vaulters the club naturally shifted to focus on pole vaulting. In 2010 the club name changed to the Rochester Rockback in order to continue its focus on the pole vault.
